Aspirations!

We drove by FIT in the city which sparked a conversation about where the girls might want to go to college.  We were discussing that different colleges specialize in different subjects and depending on what they wanted to do when they grow up they will choose a school.  All of a sudden Reyna gets really upset and announces that all she wants to do is learn to whistle!  Aim high little one, aim high!

Felines Beware!

Today I downloaded the Talking Tom app for Kyan's iPad so it would repeat what he says.  However, this little boy went into hysterics when he realized he could hit the cat and it would say ouch!

HBD to Nyah!

Yesterday was Nyah's 8th birthday.   I was so busy planning surprises for her special day that I forgot to get her a card.  So I was very surprised and impressed with Aamir when I saw this on the table...

If you've ever seen Aamir's writing you would understand why I assumed he made this.  After speaking with Aamir I discovered that this was in fact made by Nyah for herself, but why?

Apparently she gave this to Aamir a day or two before and told him "Since I'm sure you're too lazy to make me a birthday card I made my own card for you to give to me." He did not object.  After all she was right.  He happily placed the card on the table before he left for work.

I love this girl!  She is so precocious!  She will definitely keep us on our toes!

I'm learning that 8 is a wise age.  8 years means you know what you want and you know how to get it even if it means doing it yourself.

Baby Naming Process

Nyah just asked me if I named Kyan because it rhymes with Lion and March comes in like a lion and his birthday is March 1.  I guess I should be glad that she thinks I put that much thought into everything I do

Potty Publicity

I always thought that it was only my kids that felt the need to make an announcement about exactly what they were doing on the potty.  Every gory detail about color, consistency, and smell.  Until today when a child in an adjacent stall announced that he was going kaka and that it smelled like cereal and the embarrassed mother informed him that he did not have to tell the world what he was doing in the bathroom.  I had to smile ... Feeling vindicated that it wasn't just my brood.  There is a great comfort in knowing that other parents are living through the same ugh and OMG moments that you are.
